Key Applications

Bearing installation and removal can be time-consuming and challenging — especially when parts fit tightly on the shaft, are exposed to contamination, or must be serviced within short maintenance windows. Improper handling or mounting can damage bearings and shafts, shorten service life and lead to unplanned downtime.

Your Challenges

Bearing installation and removal can be time-consuming and challenging — especially when parts fit tightly on the shaft, are exposed to contamination, or must be serviced within short maintenance windows. Improper handling or mounting can damage bearings and shafts, shorten service life and lead to unplanned downtime.

Our Solutions

Timken Bearing Accessories help make maintenance safer and more repeatable by supporting proper installation, removal and reliable bearing retention. Options include:

  • Low-Frequency Induction Bearing Heaters: Controlled induction heating to expand bearings and other components for mounting — supporting faster, more consistent installation. A safer, more environmentally friendly alternative to ovens, oil baths and torches that helps reduce fumes and oil waste. Digital electronics optimize the cycle and automatically demagnetize after each heating cycle.
  • Hydraulic and Mechanical Pullers: Tools for removing press-fit parts — including bearings, wheels, bushings, gears and pulleys — while helping protect components during removal. Hydraulic pullers provide higher-force, self-contained removal, while mechanical pullers offer a simpler, economical approach with self-centering designs.
  • Adapter Sleeves, Nuts and Washers: Used together to mount tapered bore bearings on cylindrical shafts using tapered sleeves. These assemblies help enable secure, efficient mounting and support easier maintenance and dismounting—helping protect bearings and shafts over time.
  • — Hydraulic nuts (HMV/HMVC): Provide controlled mounting/dismounting — helping reduce the chance of damaging bearings or related components while improving control during installation.

Benefits

Timken® Bearing Accessories help streamline bearing maintenance by supporting proper installation, removal and mounting practices. By reducing the risk of damage during handling and service, these accessories can help extend bearing and shaft life, improve equipment reliability, and increase maintenance efficiency.
