The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 (coronavirus) a global pandemic. Our Timken leadership team is taking quick and decisive action to prioritize everyone’s health—from our associates to our partners and communities where we work and live. Here is how we are responding to this unprecedented, rapidly evolving challenge.
In addition to our strong internal standards for safety, health and business conduct, we are implementing rules and guidance from government and health authorities everywhere we operate. We have taken preventative measures outlined by the WHO and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that include social-distancing practices and remote working across all our locations, suspending non-essential business travel and visitor access, and ensuring frequent and deep cleaning at our facilities to maintain a healthy environment.
We continue to operate our business around the globe, leveraging our manufacturing footprint and staying responsive to demand. We are coordinating closely with customers, suppliers and logistic partners to uphold a reliable supply of product and expertise.
This is critical because Timken products and services are vital to our customers and the world—from the farms and factories that produce our food, to the power plants that provide energy to our homes. Our customers, communities and other stakeholders are counting on us to keep industry in motion, and we will. Our leadership team and more than 18,000 associates are committed, agile and focused on this issue.
Thank you for your support as this situation continues to unfold. By remaining responsive and staying informed, we will get through this challenge together.
