Timken Relationship with Carrillo Industries Strong as Steel

For more than 15 years, Timken has been the sole steel supplier for Carrillo Industries’ high-performance connecting rods. Carrillo has manufactured and supplied the automotive professional and aftermarket with high-performance connecting rods for more than 40 years and is recognized as the “officially licensed” connecting rod supplier for NASCAR.

Working with long-time forger Trinity Forge, based in Mansfield, Texas, Timken supplies Carrillo with its Parapremium™ steel. Timken Parapremium steel is tested and certified to meet the requirements of AMS-2304. This specification requires the cleanliness levels of vacuum arc-remelted steels for air melted product. The steel improves power density while meeting the critical strength, ductility, chemical and consistent quality requirements set by Carrillo for optimum performance.

“High quality, consistency, service and support are the cornerstones of a successful business and the standards that have guided Carrillo to success,” says Jack Sparks, vice president, Carrillo Industries. “In order to sustain our position in the global motorsports industry, it is imperative that our suppliers maintain the same standards of excellence, which is why Timken has been a supplier for more than 15 years.”

“We continue to provide customized solutions that meet the changing needs of our customers,” says Troy Powell, account manager – alloy steel at Timken. “The strength and quality of Timken Parapremium Steel is one example of how we continue to meet the demands of Carrillo in order to maintain a mutually successful relationship.”
