Aerospace Bearing Repair

Timken reconditioning services help extend the life of aerospace bearings manufactured by Timken. Customer-specific repair programs can help reduce costs. Inspections are typically completed in three days; reconditioning in just 14 days or less. We cover the complete range of reconditioning services, offering customers a single source for money-saving repairs. Timken reconditioned bearings comply with FAA and EASA standards.

Our Certified Reconditioning™ process offers superior quality in Level 2 bearing reconditioning – a reliable, affordable solution for extending the life of your in-service OEM bearings. We return your bearings to a like-new operational condition, ensuring the highest standards in quality, safety and performance. Reconditioned bearings may offer up to an 80 percent savings compared to the cost of purchasing new bearings.

Bearings sent to Timken repair facilities go through a process of reverse engineering, in which they are first logged and serialized then disassembled and thoroughly washed using automated cleaning systems. Ferrous parts are cleaned and then subjected to magnetic particle testing to determine surface cracks and abnormalities. They are then visually checked for dimensional profile, with the rings honed and ground to specification.

Experienced inspectors then reassemble the bearings in a clean room environment, re-lubricate the bearings for preservation and ensure that packaging meets the most strict quality guidelines.

The result is a refurbished bearing that equals the quality of a new bearing at a fraction of the cost.
