Why do leading airlines, engine overhaulers, and global military facilities readily use Timken reconditioned bearings rather than buying new? The answer is simple. Timken Bearing Inspection provides the highest quality reconditioned bearings, saving up to tens of thousands of dollars in maintenance costs per overhaul.
Bearing reconditioning is the cost effective alternative to buying new OEM bearings, which are expensive and sometimes hard to procure. Timken's Aerospace Bearing Reconditioning process offers the highest quality in bearing reconditioning - a reliable, affordable solution for extending the life of your in-service bearings. Our reconditioning process returns your bearings to a like-new operational condition, without a sacrifice in the quality, safety, or service life of your bearings.

The Timken Aerospace Bearing Reconditioning process includes:
Raceway Honing- This is the heart of Timken's unique process, restoring the geometry and surface finish of the inner and outer raceways. There is minimal removal of raceway material (.0003") and each raceway is inspected 100% for all critical features.
Rolling Element Replacement- Each bearing receives a matched set of new balls or rollers that have been fully inspected and tested. Each rolling element is 100% visually and dimensionally inspected as a matched set prior to bearing assembly.
Complete Inspection- Each bearing undergoes extensive visual and dimensional inspection in accordance with Timken's approved procedures, and OEM acceptance criteria (where available).
Assembly and Test- Fully reconditioned bearing rings are matched with new rolling elements and 100% inspected in accordance with all applicable OEM specifications. New rolling elements meet or exceed manufacturer's requirements for material, geometry and surface finish, and are also 100% inspected prior to installation.
Final Inspection- Completed bearings undergo a "white glove" final visual inspection and are dynamically tested on Timken's proprietary BA-96 Bearing Analyzer™. This dynamic test evaluates the operational noise signals produced by both ball and roller bearings and is ideal for new, as-removed, and reconditioned bearings.
Shipment- Reconditioned bearings are cleaned, preserved, vacuum-sealed, and packaged for shipment complete with:
* A completed FAA 8130-3 tag (with dual-release statement for international customers).
* A Profile Card containing the actual measurements of each main engine bearing.
