On-site Vehicle Maintenance

Timken on-site vehicle maintenance services are available through Timken’s Mobile Reconditioning Unit, a self-contained repair facility that travels to customer sites upon request. These units are currently available in South Africa. Bearing reconditioning can be performed by Timken associates or your in-house maintenance team using our fully outfitted maintenance van.

Traction Motor Suspension Unit (MSU) Reconditioning

More than 28,000 motor suspension units are operating successfully on Timken tapered roller bearings in Europe and South Africa. We supply not only the suspension bearings but also the MSU tube (with labyrinth seal) assemblies. Benefits include higher reliability, reduced radial clearance, low starting torque, reduced maintenance costs (since the MSU is a self-contained unit) and grease lubrication (no oil levels to maintain).
