Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Systems

When it comes to safety, we believe even one injury is too many, so we remain relentless in our pursuit of an accident-free workplace, with education and prevention being our most effective tools.

Timken is committed to operating safely and responsibly every day. We strive to keep our workplaces safe and healthy, to care for the environment around us and to develop sustainable technologies and business practices that contribute to global economic growth and prosperity.

At the same time, Timken remains a good steward of the environment, guarding our natural resources as we strive for greater efficiency in our operations and for our customers. We embrace environmental sustainability through pollution prevention, waste management, recycling and energy conservation, and as we create energy-saving innovations in our friction management and power transmission products and services.

As part of our commitment, Timken’s Environmental Health and Safety team has developed an audit program which regularly assesses our EHS management systems globally to ensure compliance with both external regulations and our high internal standards. Manufacturing facilities are audited by Timken’s Corporate EHS team or a qualified consultant, every three years or sooner*. Additionally, our manufacturing facilities are required to conduct annual self-audits to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and internal expectations.

* Exceptions may include distribution centers, warehouses, or newly acquired facilities. Changes to the schedule are approved by the vice president of Environmental Health and Safety.
