John A. Luke, Jr. served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MeadWestvaco Corporation (“MWV”), a leading global producer of packaging and specialty chemicals, from the merger of Mead and Westvaco in 2002 until his retirement in 2015.  Prior to his retirement, Luke led the process that resulted in MWV merging with Rock-Tenn Company to form WestRock Company (NYSE: WRK), which created the second largest packaging company in the industry.  Luke has served as a director of FM Global since 1999, Blue Heron Capital, LLC since 2013, WestRock Company since 2015, The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation from 2007 to 2018, and MWV from 2002 to 2015.

Luke brings deep executive leadership experience to our board, including expertise in leading large corporate transformations and evaluating and executing inorganic growth opportunities.  Luke brings the perspective gained from having served on several corporate boards, including as Non-Executive Chairman of WestRock Company and a member of the Corporate Governance and Nominating, Audit and Executive Committees of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation.

Luke is a member of the Compensation and Nominating and Corporate Governance Committees. He has been a Timken director since 1999.
