Originally developed for screwdown applications in metal rolling mills where thrust loads exceed one million pounds, TTVF type bearings are designed to provide the highest thrust bearing capacity available. This design features one flat washer and another that includes a tapered raceway.

Type TTVS bearings have the same basic roller and raceway design as the TTVF, except the lower washer consists of two pieces that enable self-alignment under conditions of initial misalignment.
