Bearing Repair and Reclamation

Repairing and Reclaiming Bearings

Used bearings can often be returned to their original specifications in less time and at a lower cost than purchasing new bearings.  In some cases, reconditioning a bearing can save up to 90 percent of the cost and time of purchasing a new bearing.

Timken provides you with repair and reclamation options for most bearing types and brands.

Bearing Repair
The bearing repair process begins with an assessment to determine the level of service required. Repair processes typically include cleaning and careful examination, polishing the components and measuring to ensure proper internal clearances. The repaired bearings are preserved, packaged and returned to the customer. Repair is typically an economical option for bearings 205 mm (8 in.) OD and larger.

Bearing Reclamation

Timken Industrial Services provides a cost-effective resource to reclaim large quantities of bearings as small as 75 mm (3 in.) OD.  By thoroughly cleaning, inspecting and applying a proprietary polishing finish, we can frequently return many used bearings you once threw away to a good-as-new condition for a fraction of the cost.
