Experience
Our experience in motorsports dates back to 1895, when founder Henry Timken judged one of the world’s first automobile races. Since then, we’ve continued to have a major impact on racing, from the first 1911 Indianapolis 500 win by a Timken-equipped Marmon Wasp to our current involvement in NASCAR and other racing series around the world.
Although racing technology has changed, the rigorous demands of the sport have remained the same – teams need products that exhibit reliability, durability and precision. That’s why race teams and sanctioning bodies turn to Timken.
Innovation
Our strong research and development infrastructure helps provide innovative solutions for the special demands of professional racing. In exchange, our relationships with racing teams offer a proving ground for the development of new products that benefit all the industries we serve. Putting products to the real-world test of high performance auto racing allows Timken to further reinforce its position as a leader in friction management.
