Timken Reliability Services

Timken Reliability Services collaborates with customers to develop solutions specifically designed to meet their needs. Building on our knowledge of motion and experiences within our own facilities, Timken Reliability Services is designed to help eliminate the guesswork from your maintenance – improving your productivity and machine uptime.

Our proven maintenance solutions assess machine and component conditions and allow our technicians to recommend best practices for maximizing uptime. Most diagnostic tests can be performed without taking machines offline.

When your machines are more reliable, you avoid downtime. That boosts productivity and has a major impact on the bottom line.

We help a broad array of industries – from mills to power plants to mining companies to food processing – solve their maintenance problems.

Service Attributes

  • Vibration Analysis - Our technicians study the vibration signature of equipment, detecting mechanical problems, developing maintenance schedules and generating detailed reports for management and technical use.

  • Infared Thermography - Helps prevent costly unscheduled outages caused by catastrophic failures from poor electrical connections.  It captures variations in heat emitted by different regions of a machine, which may allow critical problems to be identified more quickly.

  • Oil & Wear Particle Analysis - Careful analysis of particles in lubricating fluids can help identify the type and amount of wear on internal components, and help prevent potential failures. Timken’s extensive experience in tribology, friction and lubrication provides a solid foundation for this advanced testing.

  • Ultrasonic Testing - Detects costly air leaks in hoses, pipes, valves and other components before they could be found through visual inspection. Timken technicians monitor areas and provide estimated leakage reports.

  • Video Imaging - Components such as gears, cages, bearings and other critical parts can be inspected without disassembling equipment. Testing can be conducted during routine maintenance shutdowns.

  • Balancing & Alignment - Consultation on realigning parts, getting components back in balance and helping to deter vibration. Proper alignment can prevent damage to bearings, gears and other parts.

  • Electric Motor Testing - A major source of motor failure is related to electrical problems. Our independent testing provides valuable information that can help with quality assurance, trending, and diagnostics and troubleshooting.

  • Continuous Monitoring Systems - Enable operators and maintenance personnel to gauge the health of systems. Sensors can measure vibration, process variables, temperature, pressure and other indicators, with data routed to a central computer.
