ID Finish

Honing

Produces tight tolerance IDs, smooth mirror-like finish and improves RMS. Follows existing ID, so frequently used after pullboring.

Pullbore

Enlarges an existing hole. Does not follow the existing ID and produces a very straight hole, due to boring being in tension rather than compression.

Reaming

Used to enlarge existing hole to produce large diameter holes (greater than 8.75 inches – 222 mm)

Skiving

Enlarges the ID of existing holes to produce straight, tight drift tolerance holes. Longer set-up times make it more ideal for large production runs.
