To improve accident investigations and data analysis throughout Timken, associates from corporate health and safety, medical services and information systems collaborated on the new Web-based Incident Management System. Using OnBase – a workflow, document storage and record retrieval technology – the Incident Management System keeps track of all medical, investigation and corrective-action documents related to injuries and near-miss incidents.

"The Incident Management system workflow drives efficient accident investigation and documentation, verifies completion of all scheduled corrective actions and supports sharing this information across the enterprise," said Ken Kushner, Canton, Ohio-based manager of health and safety. "We implemented the system in 12 plants in 2006 and will complete the roll-out during 2007."
