Timken gave a boost to Special Olympics preparations for the 2007 World Games in Shanghai as a corporate sponsor to the Special Olympics’ East Asia Committee. As a hosting sponsor, Timken’s contributions helped establish the Special Olympics Family Support Network, Young Athletes Demonstration, and a Model University project to develop education, training and facilities for athletes and coaches, with four special schools to be established in China through Timken’s Adopt-A-School program.

Timken associates took part in the Special Olympic activities across China, welcoming athletes, their families and coaches, and continue to support Adopt-A-School and other opportunities for the advancement of special-needs persons through Special Olympics-sponsored education and athletics.
