Timken's lower swing spherical roller bearing assembly uses patented technology to improve performance and cost savings for mining draglines at the vertical, lower swing shaft position. Originally designed for a Marion 8750 dragline, this assembly is easily adaptable for draglines of various sizes.

Other system designs have allowed grease to leak out of the bearing, causing improper lubrication levels and, subsequently, unexpected failures of the bearings and associated gear systems. The Timken design eliminates this problem, resulting in reduced failures, lower grease costs and less waste disposal issues.
