 Tubing

Mechanical Tubing ImageTimken's seamless mechanical tubing is produced in most standard carbon, alloy and intermediate alloy grades, as well as non-standard grades. The rotary forging process provides a refined and uniform grain structure along with greater strength and ductility.

Timken seamless steel tubing can largely be classified as either mechanical or pressure tubing. Mechanical tubing is typically used as the raw materials for machined components. Compared to solid forms, tubing greatly reduces the machining required. Timken is one of the world's largest manufacturers of seamless steel tubing for mechanical applications.

Pressure tubing conveys fluids or gases under pressure, including tubes for steam and nuclear power generation, and for chemical and plastics industries. The tubing is made to resist high or low temperatures, high pressures, oxidation and corrosion, and meets standard ASTM specifications.

Conditions

Tubing is available either in hot-rolled, cold-pilgered (rotorolled) or rough tuned conditions.

Thermal Treatment

Timken offers a range of thermal treatment options for steel.

Quality

From commercial quality steel to our Parapremium™ (AMS 2304), Timken has the right steel quality level to fill your needs.

Size Range

Timken tubing may be purchased at recommended sizes, manufactured to clean up at finished part dimensions.

Shaped Tubing

Timken tubing can be custom-designed for specific customer applications.

Quantity

There is a 5-ton minimum for standard grades of steel.
